Remember Me?

Hi. It has been forever. We have been busy.
Wednesday my friend Sara and her daughter Briar came to visit. We had a picnic at the park and let the kids play. It was an absolutely beautiful day. We had a great time catching up and watching the kids play.
Joey took the day off on Friday so we could get started on landscaping. Unfortunately it rained. We did get everything organized for the big project so we made the best of the rainy weather.
On Saturday we spent 11 straight hours landscaping. We re-sloped the front of our lawn with a whole pick up load of compost we got free from the dump. Then we planted and got a pick up full of mulch. Needless to say we were pooped at the end of the day!!!! But it looks 100% better than it did before! We still have 12 more plants to plant and then we will be done. I have added 11 plants since Saturday so I will get a new final picture added soon.

Beautiful Weekend

What a beautiful weekend we had. The weather was absolutely perfect. Friday evening Lomen called and told us he was coming to spend the weekend with us. We were happy to have him come to town. The last 2 weekends haven't worked out.
Friday night we spent most of the evening at the park and feeding the ducks. We got back at 8, put Hayden to bed, and started the grill. We had a great time chatting and eating.
Saturday we met with a landscape designer. We walked around the whole house for 1 1/2 hours. We got a lot of ideas for future work, and she is going to draw up a plan for the front of the house. We are excited to get some landscaping done. She is giving us the plans this week and Joey and I plan to get started this weekend. I am anxious to see what she came up with.
Saturday afternoon the guys went golfing and Hayden and I hung around the house. When the guys got back they washed all of the cars, and we went over to our neighbors for drinks and snacks. We were going to bring some queso and salsa over, but we must of been hungry, because there was not enough left to share by the time we were done. Let's put it this way, poor Hayden got caught in the mix and somehow got salsa and queso in his hair from all of us eating over him. It was sooooo funny! We thought we would redeem ourselves next time and take the salsa and queso right over, and not test it out before we take it over.
We had a great time chatting with Nancy and meeting our new neighbors. We ate burgers on the grill and salmon. Tip for great burgers. Nancy puts garlic powder on the burgers. They were sooooo delicious. I am going to try it that next time I grill burgers. We finished off the evening with strawberry rhubarb pie. Nancy always likes to make Lomen a pie when he comes to town.
Sunday Lomen made us ommlets. They were awesome like usual. Lomen decided much to Joey's excitement to purchase an XBOX 360 while he was here, so Joey and Lomen played GTA most of the afternoon. We grilled out and sent Lomen on his way.
It was a great weekend and we got a lot accomplished! Looking froward to the long weekend!!!!

What the fork?!?!?

Ok I just had to say that. I can hear my mom sigh with disapproval to the disgust of me referring to the f word. :) But you know what, that is what I am thinking right now!!! ( We honestly are not a fan of that word here, but according to my last few posts it may look like it)!!!!
We just got back from the Dr. He wanted me to bring Hayden in to make sure his ear infection has cleared up and guess what..........he still has a stinking ear infection and strep throat! We are now on our third round of antibiotics, and I am so hopeful that this kicks it! Hayden has been full of meltdowns, whining, and crying lately I am about ready to loose my mind!! I was starting to dread the thought of this becoming our daily routine.....wake up....smile...cry...throw a fit on the floor crying......eat lunch.....cry....throw a fit......play.....cry....cry....cry...nap....cry...snack...
cry.....play...cry....cry..throw a fit....eat dinner.....play....bath...cry.....sleep.

I just got done reading Jennie's blog about being bothered and blessed, and I pointed out that I try to focus more on the positives than the negatives......so I guess the positives are:
It is the most beautiful day outside today. Absolutely perfect. 72, sunny, and calm.
It is Friday, which means Joey will be home all weekend, and the weather is supposed to be nice
When Hayden doesn't feel well he snuggles more. I love snuggling with him
My neighbor Nancy brought over 1/2 of a strawberry pie she made, and I ate it all!
Our lilacs are blooming. When we get a breeze I can smell them throughout the house.
An ear infection and strep throat can be cured and for that I am thankful!!!!!

Weekend Recap

Not to much has been going on lately. This weekend flew by as usual. I had a wonderful Mother's day. Joey's gift to me was being agreeable, I heard him tell someone. It was great. We got tons of organizing done early Sunday morning. I love it when he is agreeable!
Saturday I went to a friend's daughters birthday party/celebration, and we went to dinner with friends, and had them over to play cards.
Hayden's new favorite place is the back porch. I moved my old table and chairs out there and he insists on eating every meal out there. He loves to sit and watch the neighbor kids play when he eats lunch!
Yesterday I dropped my parents off at the airport. They are flying out to visit my sister for weeks. They have a lot of fun side trips planned. They will have a great time. I am glad Ingrid has some company there since her husband is gone until August!!

New favorite word

I am soooo mortified to even post this, but I have to share.
Hayden's new favorite thing and word is fork. The way I say fork and the way he says fork is a lot different. I say fork, the way we all know it to be said. Hayden says fork which sounds like f***. It is awful!!!! He says oh fork, my fork, a fork.
I finally figured out this morning that he was saying fork. We were playing in his kitchen and he said oh fork. He seriously walks around with a fork all day and talks about it.
I just hope he didn't talk to much about it today at MOPS!!!!

Wake up Jeff

Hayden's new favorite thing is learned from the Wiggles. He loves it when we pretend to sleep and then he says "1...2...3.... Wake up Jeff". Those of you who watch the Wiggles know what I am taking about. It is soooo funny. He also "falls asleep himself" and then pops up and yells "wake up Jeff". He is sooo silly. We all laugh and laugh and laugh.

Fun in the Sun

We had a great weekend. Saturday we went up to Waterloo to visit Joey's grandparents before they left back to Wisconsin. His grandpa is out of the hospital and doing great!
Joey's Grandma and I went to the yarn store in CF. Joey's Grandma is going to teach me how to knit.
We had a great Steak dinner and then headed back home. Hayden and I in the car, and Joey on the motorcycle. He is borrowing one from his Dad and is sooooo excited. He convinced me this was a good idea to save on gas money this summer. He is going to drive it to work. He also gets up close parking at work!
Sunday we measured the outside of our house and took pictures. We are finally going to get some landscaping done.
We got sand for Hayden's sandbox. He had a blast playing in it. He also played in a muddy puddle, learned how to spray the hose, and helped daddy wash the motorcycle. He had a bath BEFORE dinner last night!
We went back to the Dr. on Thursday and Hayden still had an ear infection. He said it was a sustaining infection, so the last round of antibiotics didn't take care of it. He is on a much stronger one now. Hopefully this takes care of it! He has been not feeling well for a month now! We go back in a week to make sure he is infection free!
This week we have Music, I have Bunko at my house, and we are hopefully having company this weekend!
Have a great week.
