Are you pregnant?

Is the question my husband asked me today when he came home and found me baking cookies. It has been a long time since I have baked cookies huh? My mom put me in the mood Thursday when she baked cookies to take to my uncles house.
Hayden and I had a great time hanging out with my parents Thursday. Mom watched Hayden Thursday afternoon so I could get some clothes shopping done.
Friday we went to check out my uncles awesome new condo. It is so nice. We are happy for him. My two cousins were there as well. We had a great time chatting and I came home with some great recipes! Dawn I forgot to write down the name of the meat roll thing. What is it called?
We had a great weekend at home. We got a lot of outside time in and cleaning done. Saturday night I scrapbooked with some friends from 5-12. It was a blast but I didn't get much done.
Thursday night we are headed up to Minnesota to hang out with the Bellows family. Joey wanted to get up there while he has his weekends free since he isn't taking a class now. Friday Stacy and I are going to scrapbook, and Saturday the guys will do something. We are looking froward to spending some time with them.

Hayden certainly can! We have been spending hours outside the past few weeks. As long as the weather is tolerable, we are out. Hayden loves being outside. When he goes outside he throws his head back and takes in a deep breath and sighs and smiles! He loves it. It is sooo cute. If we aren't able to be outside I have often caught him laying in the front entryway with his face in the sun.
Hayden has been talking up a storm. His teachers at PDO have been commenting on his sudden spurt in "clear" language as they call it. He has also started singing. Joey and I love that. Now we have another person in our family to sing our made up songs!!! We have been having so much fun with him lately! He loves to sing and do the actions to itsy bitsy spider.
One of his new favorite loves is the moon. He loves to find it whenever it is out. He points and says moon.
It seems like he is showing us something new every day! Kids never cease to surprise us do they?

1. I can't just use 1/2 of a Kleenex. I have to blow in it twice. If I just blow once in one corner I save it and use the other corner the next time I have to blow my nose.

4. I am a sniffer. I sniff everything. I love the way my husband's skin smells, and I LOVE the way Hayden smells. I even sniff my upper lip.

I think we made it!

I hate to even type this for fear it will jinx us, but I am happy to report Hayden took a nap and went to sleep tonight without crying hysterically! Whew!!! What a relief. Joey and I started to second guess our decision and about gave him his binky back on Tuesday. After a week of crying and being so mad at us I wasn't sure of how much more I could take! I absolutely dreaded laying him in his crib. Hayden would even start screaming and clinging to us as soon as we stood by his crib. I think it was just as hard on us as it was on Hayden.
I think we are over the tough stuff. (fingers crossed) Way to go Hayden!!

But MOM I said I want my BINKY NOW!!!!

Well, we made it through the first night. It involved 2 hours of crying, 2 rounds of vomit because he was soooo mad and cried so hard he puked, a poopy diaper, 2 rounds of sheet and pj changes, and a bath.
He woke up once in the middle of the night looking for his binky, but only cried for a few minutes. I wish I could find a gradual way to get rid of it, but since he chews on it more than he sucks on it, it is messing up his teeth. Cold turkey is the best route. I did cut the tips off, but only to prevent myself from giving in and giving it to him!
I just laid him down for his nap and he cried for 15 minutes, but now he is out. Whew!
Hopefully we make it through tonight!
I feel bad for him. Getting something that you have used for 19 months taken away. I feel bad messing with his comfort items. I guess he will just need to find a new way to comfort himself. Hopefully it isn't thumb sucking!

So today is the day that I decided to wean Hayden from the binky. Any prayers and positive vibes you want to send this way would be appreciated! He has yet to fall asleep today (or this evening) without one!

Date Night

Woo Hoo! My friend Teresa insisted that she come over and play with Hayden so Joey and I can enjoy an evening out. How could we say no!
Hopefully I can sit down sometime this weekend and get my blog updated. We are enjoying the warmer weather, and hope the 2 inches of snow they are predicting stays at that. I think we are about 3-4 inches away from the record for the most snowfall ever!
