Our neighbor girls like to come over all the time to visit Hayden, and me. Monica (6), Marry Claire (4), and Caroline (2.5). Our neighbor says that Monica truly thinks of me as her best friend, and she would be over all day if she would let her.
Anyway, they come over all the time and ask if Hayden can play Honey. Monica is the Mom, Marry Claire is the other mom, and Caroline is the dog. Hayden is the Honey, as they call him, or the baby. It is soooo stinkin cute. He lets them push him around in a doll stroller and boss him around. I just love hearing them call him honey instead of baby.

Handy Hayden
Yet another reason I can not turn my back for even a couple of minutes while folding laundry.
When I walked out of the room, Hayden was dancing and clapping to his new favorite show..The Wiggles.
2 minutes later I came out to check on him, and was greeted by Hayden coming in from the porch, holding part of the back door in his hands. I went to the back door to see what happened, and was surprised to see that our little handy man had all of his plastic tools from his tool bench in a pile next to the back door. Somehow he got the hinge off the back door using his plastic tools.
At first I couldn't believe my eyes. Then I just started laughing, and laughing, and laughing so hard I was crying.

Big Boy Bed
We decided to convert Hayden's crib to the toddler bed. Over our last many weekends of sleeping away from home, we noticed he slept great in regular beds. We have been struggling with sleep in general at home since we got rid of the binky.
Sunday night he was very very mad to be back in his crib. So mad in fact he literally threw up all over his bed, blankets, stuffed animals, carpet, etc...
So at that moment Joey and I decided something needed to change. Joey gave Hayden a bath, and I started cleaning up the bedroom.
After his bath, Hayden pitched in with the transformation of his crib.
Once we had everything picked up and put back together we laid him in his "new" bed, tucked him in, and he fell right to sleep.
Nap time rolled around the next afternoon, he protested for 3 minutes by banging on his bedroom door, and then surrendered, climbed back into his bed, and crashed.
He now no longer protests at nap time, and we have not had an issue yet at bedtime. Which is awesome. He never cried when we put him to bed before we took the binky away. Since we took the binky away, he cried every time.
Now no crying again. That makes us all happy. Hopefully we have less crying now in his new bed!!!!
Giddy-up
Hayden inherited a new toy from his cousins. It is one of those spring horses. I thought maybe he would be a little cautious on this thing since it is so high up. Not our son. He goes to town on it. Grandma M already predicted that there will be some sort of injury on the horse. You can tell it is an older toy...they never would make a toy like this anymore. Exposed metal springs, no safety strap, way high off the ground. Makes you wonder how kids have fun anymore. :)

Wedding
This weekend Joey's brother got married. It was a blast! We are so happy for Johnny and Darliene!
Friday we had the rehearsal dinner at a bowling alley. It was so much fun to go bowling as a big group, and hang out with the wedding party and families.
Saturday went great. The ceremony went off without a hitch. Even though minutes before the ceremony the PA system wasn't working. Good thing I am married to the smartest electronic guy ever, and he got it working with a few minutes to spare.
The reception was a blast. They had great food, and a lot of people to help them celebrate.
Unfortunately, Sunday Joey's grandpa started to feel ill, and was rushed to the hospital. He is still in intensive care, but is starting to get better. Whew!!! Joey's poor parents also got water in their basement from the heavy rains on Friday, so they are busy ripping up carpet today. Fortunately my Mother-in-Law is great under pressure, and doesn't get too stressed out, and remains calm, cool, and collected. Those are attributes about her that I admire!

First Ear Infection......
pink eye, and strep throat!!! Poor guy! His eye has gone from bad to worse today. He has these huge goobers in them. Hopefully he can open them in the morning!
He had a slight fever last night. Good thing he did, otherwise I probably wouldn't have taken him in. He has been a little cranky lately, but not too bad.

18 Years
Wow. I can't believe it. Today is the 18th anniversarry of my Dad's death! How can that be? Time has flown by. I feel like he has been gone for a long time, but 18 years sounds sooo long.
Lately I have been feeling gypped. I wish so much that he and Hayden could have met. He would have been an awesome Grandpa! Singing silly songs and bouncing him around all over on his knees.

Catching Up
Now that we finally have a system worked out since we jumbled computers around, I hope to blog more often. Joey networked out computers together, so I can retrieve the pictures from "his" computer, without having to go into the basement.
So I thought I would post some pictures taken over the last month.
Bird in a wire.......and bye bye Afrin?
Sunday when we arrived home we were greeted to a huge black bird dangling from our huge tree in the back yard. It got tangled in Joey's antenna. The neighbor kids came right over to watch Joey figure out how to rescue it from the tree. My neighbor said the kids watched it all day and cried for the bird. Joey got on a ladder and used our huge tree trimmer to cut the wire. Then he spent 10-15 minutes cutting the wire from the birds wing. It ran away once Joey freed it.
Our darling cherub decided to show off his new toilet flushing skills on Thursday befre we left and sent a bottle of Afrin down to the sewer. Well it went down the toilet, but got stuck somewhere in the toilet. After Hayden flushed the toilet he marched around the house saying "good job, good job" and clapping for himself.
So after the bird ordeal Joey tried to retrieve the bottle. Joey tried snaking, reaching, pulling, removing the toilet from the floor and snaking from the bottom and top, but the bottle is sooo jammed he can't get it out. So it is off to Home Depot tonight to get a new toilet! Seriously....leave it to our child to get something so jammed in the toilet we have to buy a new one. Unbelievable!! We have to make sure the new toilet we get has enough room on it to put on a toilet lock.
Fun in Northern Minnesoooota
Did you catch my attempt to type in a northern Minnesotan accent?
We had a great time with the Bellows family! Like usual, we had plenty to do. We drove up Thursday after Joey got off of work. Hayden did awesome. He read some books and looked out the window the whole way up there.
Friday we met Matt for lunch and attempted to get a little shopping in. Hayden was not having it at all. He wanted to run around and be anywhere besides a shopping establishment. So Stacy and I hurried home, packed up and headed to our evening of scrapbooking. Some of Stacy's friends met us there. We had a great time chatting and scrapbooking. We scrapbooked from 5-12:30.
Saturday we just kind of hung around. It was nice to relax and lay low. The guys had to get some tires for the 4 wheeler. Hayden went along and had a blast riding in Matt's HUGE truck. Joey said he was perfect. I guess Hayden prefers hanging out with the guys and doing guy things, rather than shopping with the girls!
Saturday night we grilled steaks, and ate outside on the deck. The weather was so nice on Saturday. We didn't even need coats, even though there was still about 12 inches of snow in their backyard!
Matt, Joey, and I played rockband on the ps3. It was a blast. Joey played the drums, Matt the guitar, and I sang. It was soooo fun and funny to play.
Saturday after we put the kids to bed, Matt and Joey went to the casino, and Stacy and I organized her scrapbooking things. Stacy could open up a store with all of her things!!!! It was fun to get everything sorted through.
I am definitely not able to stay up late like I used to. I am sleepy today from staying up until 1 or 2 every night! But it was worth it.
