I am here, but with no pics to show. I attempted to get a great one of Joey and Hayden mowing the lawn last night, both with their mowers, and both with their safety glasses, but as soon as Hayden saw the camera he took off his glasses and looked down. Stinker. That is why I don't get many pics lately. I should try more. That is my goal for the rest of the summer.
I have been feeling crappy. At least I haven't thrown up yet like I did all the time with Hayden. So I guess that is a plus.
Hayden has been keeping me laughing saying things like, "Hey mom I want to go to Chuck E Chees and play skeeze ball", or like peeing his pants yesterday morning after he got up and proclaiming that he wants to wear diapers again and was going to throw his potty in the garbage, while trying to drag it to the garbage.
He has been doing very well with the potty thing. He even has since yesterday's revolt. He has been dry every night. We have had a few accidents here and there, but I has been a pretty good experience so far. Fingers crossed. :)
We have been keeping busy with playdates, parks, and parties. We had our first birthday party of the summer. Theo was the first friend to turn 3. He had a fireman party and they even got a visit from the CR firedepartment. It ws the cutest. As soon as the fire truck drove in all of the boys were on the fron porch screaming and jumping up and down.
Tonight we are packing up for our trip to Minneapolis. We are leaving at the crack of dawn for a fun filled weekend with Ingrid's in-laws. I am excited to meet all of Andrew's family. We are going to the zoo tomorrow, swim in the hotel, and then go out for dinner. It should be a fun weekend.

4 day weekend
I just found out Joey had a 4 day weekend for the 4th. Yippee!!!!
The weather has cooled off and we are enjoying a break from the heat. It is going to warm up starting tomorrow which will be nice for the holiday weekend.
We spent last weekend in CF. Friday we took Ingrid and Rorek up to my mom's for their visit time with them. I think Ingrid and Rorek agreed that it would be a good idea to say with Grandma M the rest of the summer because our house is a little too hot for them upstairs. :)
Saturday morning we decided last minute to go to the Sturgis Falls parade. It was hot, but there was a breeze so it was tolerable. We met grandma Paricka and Faith there. Then it was off to the park for our annual turkey tenderloin sandwich and lunch in the park. We met Sara, Jeremie and the girls there as well as Grandma and Grandpa M. We had a nice place in the shade and it was wonderful eating lunch and listening to the music. After lunch we walked around with the Moreau's and checked out the kids activities. Hayden was lucky enough to ride in the wagon with Olivia. He was in heaven. The child LOVES riding in wagons.
Sunday we headed to Grandma P's to see Joey. He was finishing up his 24 hour ham radio competition. He and his friend Tom stayed up all night operating radios for the annual competition. They operated out of Joey's parents back garage.
After the competition ended we took a quick dip in the pool and headed home.
We were all asleep by 7:30. We were exhausted.
So far the plan is to hang around close to home for the weekend. We need to finish organazing the basement and Joey needs to fix the big hole in the driveway. We will probably go to our neighbors to grill out on the 4th. This will be our 3rd year getting together. We usually grill out and Nancy makes homemade ice cream. Yummy.

First hot day of the summer
Today we all went to family swim at Noelridge. It was a beautiful and warm summer day. We went for about an hour.
Last week Hayden and I started swimming classes. Hayden screamed and clung to me the whole first class. He warmed up a little for the second class. We still had a lot of screaming, but not as much. Throughout the whole class Hayden wanted to play on all of the water toys in the water. So I thought today when we went he would want to play, but now that the water was turned on he stayed away. Joey helped him down a couple of slides and put his head under the water. When I say helped I mean forced Hayden down the slides kicking, screaming, and holding onto the top of the slide for dear life. Then we spent the rest of the time watching Joey go down the big slides and diving board. He is surely a big kid.
This evening we got Hayden's pool out in the backyard and he had a blast. He was a daredevil on the slide going down on his back, belly, and backwards. Maybe he is just more comfortable in his own environment.
Joey got his antenna up on the house. It has been "temporarily" placed in our backyard for the past couple of months. I am glad to have that space opened up so we have more room to play and have picnics in the shade.

Oh Joey
Today Hayden ran past me after getting dressed with the help of daddy. I saw that he had camouflage shorts on and thought I don't remember Hayden having camouflage shorts.
Then I got a better look at him when he ran by again and realized that Hayden was wearing "pants" that I took of Rorek yesterday. Size 9 months.
A. I can't believe that they fit him.
B. I can't believe Joey didn't think that something was strange with shorts that were longer than Hayden's knees and shorter than his ankles.
C. Hayden is still wearing his capris.

Potty Update
So far we are DRY 5 out of 5 of the past nights. We had an accident the other day when we were playing at our friends. It was our first 4 hour venture out, and he wasn't quite sure what to do. Luckily we were playing outside. :)
Today we went to the park to meet friends, and I made sure to ask him a little more if he had to potty. I also told him he could pee on a tree to sweeten the pot a little. Needless to say he peed on a tree and announced it to all of our friends and they all jumped around and did a happy dance. It was quite amusing!
Ingrid and Rorek are coming tomorrow for 2 weeks. It has been a while since they have been here. We are looking forward to their visit. Otherwise we have no major plans and are going to hang out around the house and get some things done.

Potty Training...Take 1
Friday night I had the "talk" with him. I told him that he was wearing his last diaper and that he has to start using the potty and wearing underwear.
We are taking the relaxed approach. We don't micromanage, ask every hour if he has to go to the bathroom, or stay in the bathroom when he is trying. We aren't using pull ups and so far we are 3 nights dry out of 3. I am sure we will have some wet nights, but we are going totally cold turkey. No diapers or pull ups. We have had a few accidents, but nothing that is to difficult to clean up. I am however thankful for wood floors. :)
Yesterday I was going to get into the shower and I told him that I didn't want him to potty on my bed or on my floor ( he was laying on my bed watching TV). I laid a quilt over my bed "just in case" and hopped into the shower. A little later I heard him come in and push his potty out into the hallway. He shut the door for privacy and came back in the bathroom and yelled "I did it"!
I am doing a lot more laundry lately, but am hoping we keep the potty train rolling and get this thing figured out before the end of the summer. :) Fingers crossed.

Does it make me a bad mom?
To send your child to bed with crusty juice hair because I couldn't muster the energy to give him a bath. I tried to comb through it, but could barely pull the comb through. Now that he is sound asleep with his hair sticking straight out, I am second guessing my decision.
